How we handle your information

ProvenIntern runs a pilot program in Philadelphia for high school juniors and seniors and college freshmen and sophomores. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, who sees it, and what we never do.

Last updated October 11, 2026

The short version

  • Businesses see an anonymous ID (like CAND-7K2Q), your scores and how you worked, but not your name, email or school unless you apply to them.
  • We ask for a date of birth only to know whether you're 14 or 15, 16 or 17, or 18 or older. We keep that age group, never the date.
  • We don't sell personal information, show ads, or use advertising trackers.

What we collect

  • When you check in at a session: your name, email and school year, plus a resume code so you can switch laptops.
  • While you work in a sandbox: what you change in the sheet and when, pastes from outside the sheet, time away from the tab, and your finished sheet. Your scores come from this. We don't record your screen, camera or microphone, or anything outside the sandbox.
  • Before a paid pilot: your age group and, if you're under 18, a parent or guardian's email for their approval and your work permit's state and last four digits. When paid pilots start, bank details for direct deposit will go to our payroll provider, not into ProvenIntern's app.
  • During a pilot: messages with the business, the hours you log, and both sides' reviews.
  • From businesses that request a pilot: the business name, the contact's name, title, work email and phone if given, and the signed letter of intent.

Who sees it

  • Businesses: your anonymous ID, scores, the scorecard summary and a replay of how you worked in the sheet. Your name is shared with a business only when you apply to it or accept its pilot.
  • Session organizers: names, emails and scores, to run the session and award any prizes. That list is password-protected.
  • Companies that run the service for us: Supabase stores the data and Vercel runs the website. To write the short summary on a scorecard, we send Anthropic's Claude the scores and counts from your sandbox under your anonymous ID, never your name, email or school.
  • Nobody else. We don't sell personal information or share it for advertising.

Students under 18

  • ProvenIntern is for students 14 and older.
  • Before a first paid pilot, a parent or guardian approves, and we need the student's work permit.
  • A parent or guardian can ask to see or delete their student's information at any time.

Cookies

We use a few cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your sandbox on the laptop you used. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Keeping and deleting information

We keep pilot-program information while the pilot runs, and we delete test runs regularly. To see, correct or delete your information, email jamal@provenintern.com.

Changes

A lawyer will review this summary before paid pilots start. If we change how we use information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
